Solid State Disks (SSD) specialise in obsolescence and “Through Life Support” (TLS) of legacy SCSI systems that originally had design in “SCSI architecture” integrating SCSI hard drives, SCSI floppy, SCSI magneto optical (MO) drives and SCSI PC cards. These SCSI drives are now EOl’d ( end of life’d) and reliable sources no longer available.. Solid State Disks Ltd, design and manufacture the Solid State SCSI SCSIFlash™ drive. We have proprietary technology and to provide maximum variations in a wide range of SCSI systems. We can analyse SCSI traces review, troubleshoot, and provide bespoke / customised firmware solutions for obscure SCSI systems.

Description

Features

  • 3.5” 50 pin SCSI Solid State Drive / 3.5” 50 pin SCSI SSD Drive / 68 pin SCSI Solid State Drive also supported with 50/68 pin adaptor
  • Small format PCB converts Compact Flash Media to appear as a SCSI device on a Host’s SCSI bus
  • 3.5” form factor PCB which will replace any 3.5” disk drive or larger drives with adaptor
  • Will fit in a 3.5” disk slot using the same mountings
  • Allows the CF Cards up to 64GB (SLC) and 256GB (MLC) to attach to the SCSI bus.
  • SCSI Host will typically see the device as a disk drive of any emulation
  • Board is low power, using 5V only, and has an optional add-on display and pushbutton user interface
  • Microcode is field upgradable via integral serial port
  • Optional integration support available if required

Specifications

Board size: 3.5” Form factor – 3.75”x5.5”.

Compact Flash: Standard 3M header for Type 1 & 2 cards.

CF Capacities Supported: ~ up to 256GB (MLC) for removable drive and non mission critical applications and up to 64GB (SLC) for fixed disk heavy read/write mission critical applications.

Power: 5 Volts only @ 0.8 Watt (Typical) + CF requirement.

Power connector: Standard Disk drive type SCSI-1 and 2 Compatible. 50 pin DIL 0.1” Connector.

SCSI Solid State Disk transfer rate: 10Mbytes/second.

SCSI Connector: 3.5” 50 pin SCSI Solid State Drive / 3.5” 50 pin SCSI SSD Drive / 68 pin SCSI Solid State Drive also supported with 50/68 pin adaptor.

LCD Display: (optional) 2X16 backlit display with push button (mounted externally) for SCSI set-up , real time activity display and real-time diagnostics.

RS232 Serial Port for microcode load and real time diagnostics.
